Prerequisites: journalism school standing

The role of a journalist is to tell the truth, act independently and minimize harm. As such, journalism students are expected to read and comply with the codes of ethics created by both the Radio and Television News Directors Association and the National Press Photographers Association.

This course deals with the basic skills training, theory and ethics of broadcast news and photojournalism.   It will cover the challenges faced by multimedia journalists working with still photos, audio, video and print and photojournalists and will prepare students for multimedia news production in our professional newsrooms: the Columbia Missourian, KOMU-TV and KBIA-FM.
